We had snow day number three today, but while the last two were “cold days” where Mer and I still went to work, today was an honest-to-goodness stay-at-home kind of snow day. It’s hard to say how much snow we got because it has drifted, but I would say about eight inches all told (just a guess). How did I spend my romantic Valentine’s Day snowed in with my beautiful wife? I spent about 2 hours shoveling, 3 hours doing school stuff from home, and I did some dishes as well. Mer is currently napping. Somebody stop all the mushy romance! We are planning on watching a movie version of Twelfth Night as a nice Valentine’s Day movie (if you are two English/Shakespeare nerds).
I offer proof of my mighty labors:
I bet y’all are looking forward to those even more romantic moments later tonight when Mer grades papers.
The one with Ben Kingsley *is* a good one – we have that one. This is a different production – it came as a two-for-one deal, paired with a very good MacBeth. I’m looking forward to it.
Since we had school off today, and Mer could not collect any papers, she is actually caught up! Amazing!
Wow! Mer’s caught up on Valentine’s Day! It’s an act of God.
Wow – 2 hours just to dig a path from your door to your garage! More proof that having snow days lessens work ethics and productivity…
Shannon spent his Valentine’s Day almost the same way! He shoveled out cars on the street for an hour and a half in the morning (we have many thankful neighbors!!), then another hour after work (we have many more thankful neighbors!!), then cooked a really fabulous dinner, then did a mountain of dishes while I was lazy on the couch catching up on my rags. I did help shovel some, but he outshovelled me 3 cars to one, easy.
What can I say? We Riordans know that nothing says “romance” to our women like manual labor.
i think march 10th would work best for me.
Oh…Well, I’m fine with Feb 24th. But if ze reunion gets pushed back, I’m fine with that too.
Hooray!
