Last weekend-plus, Mer’s parents stayed with us on their way home from Maine. Ohio is not the most efficient way to get to Florida from Maine, but they like to swing out to see us and Aunt Mary. They arrived Friday and left last Wednesday morning. I’m afraid it was not the most exciting visit we could offer – Carlene had a very bad cold, and Dale had a gimpy knee from so much driving. As such, it was a low-key visit, with almost no outings to speak of. I cooked a lot in an attempt to be a good host, and we got to chat a fair amount.
We did watch one movie – Mer and Dale and I watched our DVD copy of Letters to Juliet, a cute movie about a love coming in Italy. It was a feel-good film with gorgeous scenery. Carlene was interested in seeing the film, but was sick enough that she fell asleep near the start of the film.
Aunt Mary came up on Monday, and we all had dinner together and watched Jeopardy as a family. We’re all trivia nerds, so that is always a fun time.
Dale and Carlene dropped by CVCA to visit Mer’s classes on Monday during the day, and they were impressed at what a tight classroom Mer runs. I’m biased, but I think she is an extraordinary teacher.
So, although it was not a pulse-pounding visit, it was good to see Dale and Carlene. They got safely back to Florida Saturday after four days of driving.
